Live Remote Captioning (LRC) delivers live instant captioning on site or remotely through the use of communications technology. The service enables verbal conversations to be converted remotely into text and displayed in real time onto a screen via a secure website, enabling deaf or hard of hearing users to read the meeting as it is happening. 

As LRC is a remote service utilising specialist technology, it is also more flexible to the end user who can be located anywhere in the world - all they need is internet and phone access. Our captioners transcribe an average 220 words a minute, with a minmum of 97% accuracy, and work in a variety of live writing environments - from TV broadcasting to live events.

All our captioners have signed confidentiality agreements. We handle sensitive material on a daily basis, and guarantee your privacy. Our website is secure, and access to your meeting is available only to nominated, registered attendees.

Requirements

Once you’ve booked your meeting, your allocated captioner will need some information from you in order to prepare – agendas, list of attendees and any prepared notes. A high quality telephone connection to the meeting will be required to ensure the captioner can clearly hear proceedings. Anyone wishing to view the captioned meeting will require a computer with a reliable Internet connection.
